Support tailored for Pacific people. These services often have staff who can speak different languages (Samoan, Tongan etc.) and understand how to use the strengths of Pacific culture to help you and your aiga/kainga/ kopu tangata/magafaoa thrive.

How could it be helpful?

Pacific services use a number of cultural models. For example, the Fonofale Model, uses the ‘fonofale’ to represent the person with its foundation, pillars, rooftop and surrounding. The Fonofale model looks at the whole person, including their physical, mental, spiritual and cultural wellbeing.

Many of these services provide holistic services, supporting their communities with a range of health issues – including alcohol and other drugs. They also often support people to access other services as needed and often partner with schools, churches, and community groups to make sure support is available for Pacific families.

These services understand how important confidentiality is to ensure that all information that you share with them is kept private. You can ask them about their privacy policies if you would like more information.
